V. Graduated Chunky Dyed Howlite Knotted Necklace

This vintage necklace is beaded and has an old-style adjustable lobster clasp closure with a small bead at the end of the chain. The necklace is strung with chunky, bumpy pieces of howlite that has been dyed to give it an appearance like natural turquoise. Although the dye extends into the drill holes (pic 5), the blue-green tone is too even and the stone is too light to be natural turquoise (especially with beads this size). The beads graduate slightly from the front towards the back, and there is a knot between each of the beads. Though I believe the stone is howlite, higher quality howlite absorbs colour better which makes me think this howlite is a higher quality. There is a very small chance the stone is actually reconstituted natural turquoise, but I would put that possibility as a very distant option. The necklace has normal wear, but there are no issues affecting wearability. There do not appear to be any stones that are cracked, chipped, or otherwise broken.
