Vintage Bags by Varon Brown Suede Clutch Bag

This dark brown, envelope-style clutch purse with a suede body and gold-tone metal trim and chain strap is a vintage designed by Bags by Varon. It can be worn as a shoulder bag, or the chain can be tucked inside to convert it from a shoulder bag to a clutch. Bags by Varon was a high-end, US-based designer company active from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. Their bags were known for using fine, often exotic, leathers and skins, and were sold in upscale department stores like Saks 5th Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman's. This bag is in good to very good vintage condition. The Suede is clean with hardly any noticeable signs of wear. The chain is still gold tone.
