Heart-shaped carved stone dish made from naturally banded brown onyx or alabaster, with warm desert tones and organic layered patterning. Polished surface highlights the natural stone formation. The stone is native to the Joshua Tree area and reflects the mineral character commonly found in the surrounding high desert landscape. No maker marks observed. Condition Preowned condition. A narrow crack is present running down one side of the piece and is visible from both the front and back. It is difficult to see at first glance but can be observed upon close inspection. It is unclear whether this is a natural stone fracture or the result of an old break; no obvious repair materials or adhesives are visible.
