đ Description
I Found You is a 1919 âcharming waltz balladâ composed by L. Wolfe Gilbert with music by Anatol Friedland, published by Gilbert & Friedland, Inc., New York. A classic example of early Tin Pan Alley popular music in waltz tempo.
The cover features a photographic portrait of a young woman. After comparison with known period photographs, the woman may possibly be Edna Murphy, a Universal Pictures silent-film actress active during the late 1910s. No performer credit or identification is printed on the cover, and this attribution is not confirmed, but the facial features, hairstyle, and time period are consistent with her publicity portraits.
A handwritten name, âEdna E. Masny,â appears at the top margin and represents the original owner of the sheet music, not the person pictured.
Interior pages include the complete piano and vocal score, along with period song excerpts. An attractive piece for collectors of early sheet music, silent film ephemera, or photographic music covers.
đ Condition
Vintage condition consistent with age. Cover shows light to moderate surface wear, minor edge and corner wear, and a handwritten original ownerâs name at the top margin. Interior pages are complete and readable, with light toning and occasional age spotting. No major tears or missing pages noted. Please review photos carefully for exact condition.
