I'm selling a vintage florentine one exactly like yours but it's too heavy after putting things in and it's not that easy to close so looking for same type but lighter in weight. Would you say it's about as heavy as a florentine one with pockets? Its the same size as yours.

No it's not as heavy as Florentine. But I will say.....that putting leather inside of leather makes any bag heavy.

A don't pack with leather. I only have a Dooney change purse and the rest are cotton catch-alls. I do carry a 20 oz water bottle that gets heavy and maybe an umbrella. Very rarely bring my tablet. But phone, charger, keys, snacks, that type of thing. :)
