Vintage Anna Sui black velvet frock coat with beaded lace embellishments and buttons. From Anna Sui’s 1993 fall/winter collection! Truly a fabulous and extremely rare piece from Sui’s prime era through fashion history. Fall/winter 1993 was heavily inspired by vintage antique clothing, from which she used a variety of velvets, beads, and lace. Edwardian, Gothic Victorian, and Romantic styles influenced her designs. This is a true collector’s garment, possibly even museum worthy defining Anna Sui’s legacy in fashion. So much 90s nostalgia! Very ornate detailing seen in the buttons and the scalloped lace. Size small womens. There is no material label, but the interior is most likely a silk. In excellent vintage condition, no call outs. Has a very deliberate silhouette, with a plunging front neckline curving downward and elongating the torso, very period-authentic. The velvet drape from the waist is also so beautifully and carefully designed.
