The Soles: The undersides are pristine (see photos), but the black-finished edges of the leather soles show some light surface rubbing/color loss in two spots. This is strictly cosmetic and common for Frye’s hand-burnished edges. The Leather: Being a premium pull-up leather, there are natural surface scuffs and "dry" marks characteristic of this hide.
