This massive piano shawl has been among my mother's things since as far back as I can remember and since I was a kid, I coveted it. I never saw her wear it, and she never let me borrow it (I don't think I asked), but that doesn't mean anything. It may have been brought back from Hong Kong by my Aunt Gladys and Uncle Howard, or it may have come from my grandmother's house, where it may have been used literally as a piano shawl Gorgeous lightweight silk habit with hand tied ultra-long fringe on all 4 sides. This is not a triangle but a square that's about 40" square, with a fringe measuring around 25" from the hem of the silk. The color is a stunning coral peach, flattering on every skin tone, and the lightweight drape of the silk makes wearing it the most comfortable luxury out there. There are one or two pin holes in the silk, and at one edge, some wear pulls. Can't be helped, as this is a delicate piece of cloth. Please examine the photographs, as I have tried to capture the flaws that I could find. This shawl or wrap or scarf (however you use it, whether on a piano or on yourself) will astound as a gift, or a prop, or a marvelous fashion statement for the avant guard, the old hippie, the Beatnik or bohemian -- or just about anyone who knows what beauty is, to behold as to wear.
