Ortega's De Chimayó. The iconic weavings produced at this venerated shop are rooted in nine generations of traditional northern New Mexico weavers. This coat was purchased in the 1990's from Ortega's Weaving Shop in Chimayo New Mexico. It is 100% wool in a true red color with classic Chimayo weaving patterns in black, white and gray. It measures 48" in length, 20" across the front and back with a sleeve length of 23". it is marked size small. The coat is lined with red and it has been repaired under the arm on one side and other than that is in very good condition. This is a incredible example of the traditional weaving from Chimayo, it is truly wearable art. Perfect for everyday wear, this coat is a special piece of women's vintage clothing that showcases exquisite craftsmanship and traditional design.

jltregeagle I live in Santa Fe and call New Mexico my forever home. This jacket is the most stunning one I’ve ever seen. I did make an offer and didn’t want to insult you but it’s about the highest I can afford. Please know that if I am able to offer more in the future, I definitely will! This jacket would be loved for the rest of my life. I’ve wanted to stop by Ortega’s many times on our many trips through Espanola, Alcalde, Taos, and that area.
