What a cool blast from the past in this stunning burnout velvet and silk scarf, from the fabulous 1990s! It is a patchwork design, offering different patterns, some in silk, some velvet, some paisley, and some burnout velvet. Burnout velvet is when velvet, most commonly silk/rayon, undergoes a chemical process to dissolve the cellulose fibers to create a semi-transparent pattern. The result is a lightweight, luxurious, and textured fabric with a glamorous look, often used for garments, scarves, and other decorative items. The colors are rich browns, gold, greens, and teal. It measures 55 by 10 inches, with a 3 inch brown and gold fringe. The reverse side is a brown and beige silk pattern. Made in Italy, it is new without tags and in pristine condition.
