RARE 1970s Solid Gold 10K Men's/Women's Figural Authentic Australian Opal Ring

RARE 1970s Solid Gold 10K Gold Men's/Women's Australian White Opal Ring: The significant Opal cabochon gemstone glimmers with sparks of light in a custom multi-prong setting, with highly detailed art-deco style female figures forming the ring's shoulders and sides and extending through the band. This substantial custom ring weighs approx 8 grams with the large GENUINE Australian Opal gemstone measuring approx 18mm x 14mm. Clearly Hallmarked 10K, size 9 3/4. This ring is in excellent vintage condition - stone setting is secure; note there is some wear to the surface of the opal as would be expected given the age of the ring, however this doesn't impact the wearability and overall appearance, and the stone itself is fully intact. Opals are fascinating gemstones: Ancient Romans viewed opal as a symbol of hope, and the stone is often associated with clarity and truth. In Greek mythology, blue opals were said to be the tears of the sky god Zeus, representing emotional balance and inner peace. In the Middle Ages, opal was believed to be a stone of luck and clairvoyance, as it was thought to contain all the virtues of other gemstones. Due to its mysterious and changing colors, opals were sometimes thought to have magical properties, like granting invisibility, which led to them being called the "patron stone of thieves".
