Vintage Esteem Super Bell Bottom Flared Wide Leg Denim Jeans S 32

Esteem Extreme super bell bottm Flared Vintage Denim wide leg Jeans. Size says 40 but fits like a 32" waist. I'm thinking it's a (European size chart) Please see size measurements.
