Morton Myles Lace/’Satin’/Sequin Short Coctail Dress*

This elegant cocktail dress has black lace which is adorned with black sequins. The cap sleeves are a creamy white satin. The dress is secured with a hiddent zipper in the back. The length od the dress from armpit to hem is about 33”. The diameter across the chest is about 17 ½”. *This dress belonged to a friend of mine who was a 10P. The shell of the dress is 80% rayon and 20%nylon. The trim and lining are 100% acetate. There are no snags and/or rips anywhere on this dress. There are also no stains. The sequins are completely intact. This dress is in excellent condition. (The ‘straps’ are what hold it to the hanger.) {Morton Myles: Myles was born in Manhattan, New York. With an interest in design, Myles entered New York University as a Freshman and then moved to the Fashion Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1950. He double-majored in Fashion Design and Production Management. Next, Myles moved to Paris, France where he extended his education in couture dressmaking and design at the Chambre Syndicale and Ecole Guerre-Lavigne. Morton Myles's name became familiar when a young Jacqueline Kennedy was photographed in one of his designs on Good Friday in Palm Beach, Florida. The photograph featured the new First Lady, President Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy and their newborn son, John F. Kennedy Jr.}
