This is a vintage coffee grinder. This manual burr-type mill is made of beechwood. It features a specialized coffee-specific mechanism that allows for an adjustable grind, from fine for espresso to coarse for a French press. I am not sure what metal the top of the grinder is made of as you can see it has a very old patina. I have not attempted to clean it in fear of ruining it. If you are interested in this, please look at pictures to be sure it is what you were looking for. The grinding mechanism is made of steel. The ground coffee is collected in a small drawer at the base of the grinder. The mill measures approximately 5“ x 5“ square and 8 inches to the top of the handle . I’m sure that this would be even more beautiful with a good cleaning of the wood and metal. It is well worn.
