⭐ Beautiful hand-carved shell cameo featuring a classical woman in profile. Round form with warm caramel/brown ground and crisp white relief. Cameos of this style were popular during the Victorian and Edwardian eras (circa 1880–1920) and were most often carved in Italy. Era: Victorian / Edwardian (c. 1880–1920) Origin: likely Italian Material: Natural shell (not plastic/resin) Shape: Round medallion/plaque, unmounted Size: approx. 1.25" (32 mm) diameter (see photo with quarter) Back: smooth shell back, no maker’s mark (common for the period) 🌷 From my great grandmother’s collection 🌷 Excellent antique condition with minor, age-appropriate wear. No cracks or repairs noted. Highly detailed carving (hair, floral crown, and drapery). Can be set into gold/silver for a pendant or brooch, or kept as a collector’s piece.
