Native American Vintage Kewa Turquoise Pendant Sterling Silver Nelson Garcia

What a stunning piece this is! This is a vintage, sterling silver, Native American piece. It comes from the silversmith Nelson Garcia. I was surprised to learn about Kewa turquoise! This is a nice size piece with amazing inlay. Multiple stones in slices are separated by sterling lines. Some of the stones include turquoise, opal, blue lapis and more. Even the bail is inlaid with the stones. The bail is nice and large so you can slip it onto a chain or strand of beads. This is a unisex piece and may be worn by a man or a woman. Love this piece! Kewa Turquoise as per Google: Kewa turquoise refers to turquoise used by artisans from the Kewa Pueblo (formerly Santo Domingo Pueblo) in New Mexico, known for their distinctive mosaic inlay and heishi bead jewelry. Kewa turquoise is not a type of stone but rather an association with the pueblo's traditional and contemporary jewelry style, which often features turquoise from nearby Cerrillos mines and incorporates it with shell, jet, and other materials.
