Such a cool dress. Rare find for a dress in this pattern and maxi length. Muumuu style popular to the era.
Bold pink and purple pattern with elephants, cheetahs and tropical plants. Trimmed with grosgrain ribbon. Cotton.
No size tag but fits like a small. Loose fits allows for flexible sizing.
Measurements: 51" from shoulder to bottom of dress
14.5" shoulder to shoulder when laid flat.
Krist Gudnason, an immigrant from Norway, founded Alice of California in 1925 after his arrival to the U.S. (Lamb, 2010). In the 1930s, Carolyn Perena took the lead as the label's designer and introduced a new aesthetic, incorporating tropical styles like the muumuu and Hawaiian prints into her designs.
Excellent vintage condition. There are some small areas where color is removed, but not very noticeable given the overall print. Please inspect photos.
