This is an antique Victorian photo album, characterized by its once velvet cover, decorative metal accents, and a central, acorn-shaped frame.  The album had featured a purple velvet cover but most of the velvety feel has worn away. It is adorned with brass or bronze embellishments, including acorns in the corners and a prominent acorn-shaped frame in the center.  These albums served as family records, parlor entertainment, and social registers, reflecting the importance of photography and self-presentation during that period.  Preowned and dates Late 1800’s. Very worn but still elegant. The album contains six photos. The interior is rough with most of the pages torn. Edges are gilt gold. Latch seems to close. From my personal Victoriana collection however photos are not my family.
