This statement necklace is an invitation to storytelling. It bridges past & present, art & fashion, elegance & imagination.
Bold vintage necklace, purchased in Madrid in 1983 & inspired by the Andalusian/Moorish era (711–1492), when Muslim emir dynasties ruled southern Spain. The blackened silver finish, with subtle golden reflections, recalls the rich ornamentation of their palaces’ metalwork. The intricate infinity knot & the interlacing strands symbolize infinity & unity.
A captivating feature is its double-sided design:
• One side forms a dense, intertwined weave, like secrets held within palace walls.
• The other side flows into a sliding, plunging knot, almost like a rope loosening to let down a beauty escaping from an emir’s harem.
This imaginative duality makes it, not only versatile in style, but also an ideal conversation piece, inviting you to share the history behind it.
Knackmixing ideas:
• Simplicity & minimalism of pairing will highlight the intricacy of the necklace: “Jazz” simple lined dresses, tops or blazers in black, bronze, silver, gold, burgundy or red with the necklace.
• Boho chic & festival looks — layered with flowing fabrics for eclectic feel
• Artistic/cultural events — gallery openings, concerts, theatre nights, or travel dinners where jewelry becomes a conversation starter.
