The is a framed early 20th Century Chinese Silk Embroidery Panel, most likely pre-WW2 being the symbolism used. Embroidered on blue silk and featuring a beautiful motif of blessings including a Butterfly, Bat, and Peoni Flowers. Made with silk and fabric, this antique original piece of Chinese History is one of a kind and showcases the "Forbidden Stitch" which was declared illegal after makers were seen to go blind. The intricate design and vibrant multi-color palette are in beautiful condition, and makes this panel a unique and stunning addition to any collection of Asian antiques or textiles. Frame intact, I have never separated the back sealed paper lining that could possible hold more information or secrets as to it's unique history. There is a small streak that can be mildly seen on the right side, as well as some small stains when looked closely, which I have never cleaned nor touched to keep it's condition and beauty intact. These imperfections reflect the pruce, sold as-is.
I am an art and history lover, so this is something I had hoped to hold onto. However, I am looking to pay off some debt and am selling beautiful investments to someone appreciative, priced accordingly. Thank You :)
