off_decatur @5horses I checked the item you had asked about to try and determine if it is solid or plated. Magnets are not attracted to it so it doesn't have anything magnetic in the core and copper is not magnetic. I used a small file in a discreet place to see if it was plated and underneath is copper. Also, it does tarnish as copper does. I am convinced that the item is pure copper and not plated. I wanted to pass this info on to you. Hope you have a great day
