icedpryce @stella_n_bubba — see it as a job or they get jaded, can't really blame the latter with how much we're given and how little we're supported, but I always tried to do what I could for my clients, like for instance no one before me ever thought to translate some documents we use, in like the whole 10 years that place existed, and it took me just an hour to do so. 💀 —

icedpryce @stella_n_bubba —I'm trying to give you an idea whilst minding HIPAA, but yea little funding/low pay = high turnover once people get experience or have enough since they could be elsewhere making the same with less stress. Yet it's so important to have a good social safety net is for MH so people don't fall through the cracks, but politicians. 🙄 Also corruption, a big provider had a scandal in the 90s re: billable hours fraud so now they don't pay for notes at all.—

With my mh issues, I am estranged from my adult kids and the rest of my family has passed away. Zero support system with the exception of a few friends who get it. But still, I don’t want to share the darkest thoughts I can have. Sucksssssss but 🤷🏻‍♀️I’m still here 😂

icedpryce @stella_n_bubba — So it's a labour of love to stay for a lot, since the easy (and sometimes necessary in some cases) thing is to leave, either for another field or to go private. But someone has to stay for the people who can't afford private MHC. Thankfully, not everyone is about making money above all else, but I think really the bigger problem is ignorance in society re: MH, thus lack of funding. I could say so much more. 😭

I thought I'd be a history professor but here I am. 😅 I think everyone can be an inspiration in their own way, like something seemingly very small can make someone's day or even week. We forget we have the power to do good, or think of grand gestures when everyday things count too.

Tho what happened was degeneration due to dysplasia (so I was born like that, but it was undiagnosed for most of my life, sadly, since it can be fixed with just PT if caught early in childhood, once your bones mature only surgery can fix it), which my injury at work made worse. But it did also explain why I kept falling so much and why I started having back issues so young.

icedpryce @stella_n_bubba And yes though tbf it's something people have to actively mind, most people who break it don't do so maliciously but through like, not realising they're breaking HIPAA rules in sharing xyz, especially in formats that feel less personal like online (nurses/doctors have gotten in trouble for stuff like filming TikToks in hospitals, which can break HIPAA, depending on what the content is.) So it's better to be too careful.

I got a little carrying case for him to attach to my DD, but I prefer it when the bag itself can keep him safe. I have a Moschino bag that also has a little pocket for him, but I try not to use it too much because the leather straps are coming a little loose. (It was my uni bag)
