The sisal baskets are handmade in Kenya from pure, sustainably-sourced sisal fibre. The baskets are thoughtfully handmade- from harvesting the local sisal plant, to crushing the leaves and extracting the fibers, to naturally dying, and weaving the baskets. The basket weavers are Kenyan women from remote rural villages, who have learned the art of weaving from their mothers and grandmothers. The bags are stamped and sewn by hand with only the highest-quality vegetable tanned leather. The natural leather will become more beautiful and soft with the sun and time.
