Intricate Australian Shell Lei

An extremely unusual piece, this necklace is crafted of shells, formed into flower like formations. I’ve seen these out of Hawaii and Tahiti before, but never this design, or from Australia. Featuring Aussie shells and a refined color palate, it’s unique and carries some serious ocean magic! True Vintage, I suspect First Peoples, but I never confirmed this. Handcrafted some decades ago, strung on fishing line with a rudimentary clasp. The clasp was unfortunately replaced by the former owner. Some shell breakage is present. Overall has a pleasing patina. Please see photos to be sure this is the perfect piece for you. Lovely unisex piece. Would work well for an island groom or dancer, or anyone who wishes to carry some ocean magic through the day.
