KING Henry the VIII 8 Jonathan Rhys Myers. If you love English history you will enjoy the showtime series so much. The closest form of historical entertainment outside of a History Channel special. The cinematography is exceptional and the writers of the series did a great job of building complexity in characters. The actors,played their parts very well. There were times I hated some of the characters, and other times I felt sorry for their circumstances, and you can only feel that personal emotional attachment if the actor has done the job perfectly portraying character. The set and costume design is superb and portrays an accurate reflection of historical period. A word of caution: there is a lot of adult content (nudity and sex scenes.
