What is POTS?

POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) is a chronic illness on the dysautonomic spectrum. A disorder of the autonomic nervous system, the symptoms are often life altering if not debilitating. Although doctors are trained to believe that POTS is rare, it was estimated that pre-Covid 170/100,000 in the general US population had POTS; approximately 75% of those diagnosed are women and it affects 1% of teens.
