An exquisite LARGE DELFT 5-FINGER TULIPIERE by DE PORCELEYNE FLES, NETHERLANDS! "The shapes are combined with the traditional tulip patterns from the Turkish Kaftans. The patterns are executed in red on a plain white background which refers to the color of the first tulips which came to The Netherlands." Perfect for a minimalist area yet stunning in contrasts! I can imagine them filled with black and white tulips or bright red ones! Large statement piece that cannot be ignored, ha! These were made by Royal Delft De Porceleyne Fles commissioned by designer Lotte van Laatum. Based on personal observation over the decades, there are perhaps offered on the auction market one or two a year.
