Microfiber cleaning cloth is NOT in plastic wrap, but I believe it came that way when it was purchased with prescription lenses. These came with my own glasses and I have never used it, it's stayed in the clamshell case all this time. There is no pilling, loose threads, staining, or any dark marks on the cloth.
