Rare, very important Antique Hoopoe Bird Hand-Coloured engraving dated 1853 after the 18th century, original by George Edwards. Marked "A. Fullarton & Co. London & Edinburgh" *Includes published periodical literature depicting prominence, provenance, and highly coveted specific engraving of the Hoopoe bird. Hence, it was prominently framed (see description below). In excellent condition, no age wear, no spotting nor foxing, hand-coloured. "Condition is everything..." Poor condition engravings with foxing (browning of paper), spotting, an off-centered bourder, and unframed will detract from the overall value, despite being highly coveted and "sold out". Our engraving does include an English late-Victorian period mahogany frame with double inlaid brass "stringing" and double-matting, ($400-500), but are not to be included in appraisals. $895 USD plus $450 frame and double-matting consistent with overall excellent condition. Imported from London, England, UK.
