Vintage Handmade Tabacco Silks quilt

Cigarette silks large quilted blanket with rounded ric-rac edge. Introduced in the twentieth-century, and popular during WWI these collaged pieces are all very unique. This particular one is machine stitched with care, and in a patriotic manner. There are approximately 99 squares with 42 unique designs unless I miscounted. It measures about 78"x 80" Some squares include women. An Irish one, one from Norway, England, Italy, Belgium and Austria.
