Izumi Shikibu, was a poet at Empress Shoshi's court. She is considered by many to have been the greatest woman poet of the Heian period. Her legacy includes 242 poems and two kashu.
Hyakunin isshu can be translated to "one hundred people, one poem [each]"
Lovely Japanese woman with an exaggerated folded kimono. There are accents of metallic gold in the printing.
The hem appears to be machine finished.
