Vintage 1940s Ivory Silk Satin Maxi Dress / Ball Gown - Shiny, mid-weight satin - feels very luxurious and has great movement - Halterneck - Straight neckline, dips down towards the low back - Fitted bodice - Concealed side zip fastening - Skirt gathered in the waist seam - Flared, floor-length skirt Size Small / Extra Small - Mannequin and model are size 6-8, model is 5ft 5" - Front chest, under arm to underarm = 47cm - Bust = 33" - Waist = 27" - Front bodice length, top edge to waist = 28cm / 11" - Front skirt length, waist seam to hem = 91cm / 36" Condition is good, wear is commensurate with age: - A couple of light marks on the skirt - they get lost in the fullness of the fabric - The halterneck straps were once attached to the back bodice and could be reattached if preferred - The back edge of the bodice has been sewn to create a lower back - there's a small 3cm panel that tucks in, not visible when worn * None of the above detracts from what a beautiful, luxurious piece this is
