Large Incolay Stone Jewelry Box with a Detailed Scenery of Zermatt and the Matterhorn Beautiful, large, heavy incolay stone jewelry box. This is a one of a kind box. Very unique detailed carved scenery of life in Zermatt and the Matterhorn. Zermatt is famed as a mountaineering and ski resort throughout the Alps. Until the mid-19th century, it was predominantly an agricultural community. The town was “discovered” mid-century by British mountaineers, most notably Edward Whymper, whose conquest of the Matterhorn made the village famous. Very detailed carvings almost look like a 3D painting. This is a piece of art and would be a conversation piece alone about its history.
