This Rare Vintage Custom Leather Beaded Handbag ($7500) was the late Barbara’s Personal Bag, crafted from the Finest Leather & Suedes in Dark Greens & Beige, Covered in Beautiful Glass Beadwork, Embroidery & Painted Accents, with Front Pouch & Braided Shoulder Strap. There are some loose threads and missing beads (see photos), Truly a Collectable One-of-a-Kind Piece! Measurements: 11-1/2" Wide x 11" High x Overall Shoulder Strap to Bottom of Bag 29". *Designer Barbara Grimes personally trained her artisans in highly advanced methods of beadwork. Her design studio was located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of the most historic and beautiful places in America. Her materials were acquired all over the world, and have a stunning collection of the best semi-precious, glass, antique, brass, and silver beads and fetishes. These ornaments adorn the best-fit jeans, suedes, leathers and an assortment of accessories that include beaded handbags, belts, and gloves. Over 25 techniques were incorporated into one garment and could take from 30 to 100 hours to complete. The effects are remarkably three-dimensional! Barbara's palette is a blend of the finest leathers and suedes from Italy and Spain. She put it all together in her own unique way that makes each piece a collectible treasure!
