This amazing crystal inkwell is from the late 19 century Victorian era. Measuring 3-1/2”x 3 x 1-3/4”, it has 3 slots for your writing implements, & hinged brass banding around the cap. Consistent with age & use, the base has scratching, & it has a few small chips but they are smooth, which leads me to believe that they are quite old, please view last few pics before UV exposure pic. The banding has an incredible patina that’s super cool! Now for the really fun part! Uranium & magnesium were used in the molten mix, so this baby glows green yellow under UV exposure! I’ve seen these inkwells used as shelf decor, placed on book stacks on the coffee table, holding q-tips & makeup accessories at the vanity, & used as bud vases or for propagating plants too!
