Vintage 30s 40s dress. Black bodice w/ bright, floral skirt and chest ruffle details. This dress has beautiful shape; note the slight peak of the shoulder pads, the sewing on lower arm, the cinching at neck, and how the waist is accentuated by back ties despite being a drop waist dress. Damn. Black material is sheer. Buttons down upper back + has a metal side zipper. This dress is very wearable but could use some love from the next owner: it's missing the top button, has a tiny hole (most visible in 4th photo), has fraying in the slit under the buttons, has a small unnoticeable seam coming undone under the pit and on the hip, and has some faint discoloration in spots (looks like light deodorant marks-may clean). Small patch on back under ruffle. As a 70-90 year old garment, it's not perfect, but it's definitely a small and worthwhile project for someone with basic sewing skills or access to them.
