Ornate Silver-tone Heavy Cast Metal French Courtesan Scene Jewelry Box w/Velvet

If you've got elegant jewelry, you need an equally elegant box to store it in... and here you have it! The embossed decor features life scenes of a courtesan of the 19th century. The inside has been covered with blue velvet. The antiqued finish to this piece really makes this more than stunning. Unlike many other antique jewelry boxes you may find the lid and hinge on this one is in great condition and in complete working order. The velvet insert is slightly fragile when being removed or inserted but the velvet lining is in great condition. There is a maker mark on the bottom as shown however I cannot read the first two letters but underneath it reads USA and 2805. I can tell this piece is cast, very heavy, and it is nonmagnetic, however, I can not be certain as to the exact metal type.
