miaowza@sam_stray hi- great question. Yes if you look up sizes of the shoebeds 8.5 inches converts to a size 5 shoe, whereas a size 8 shoebed would be 10.5 inches. I found this article helpful: https://www.byrdie.com/shoe-size-in-inches-2987804
