Opening measures approximately 2.75" across and 2.5" deep, so it would just be for a small plant or something with shallow roots like a succulent. The full piece measures approximately 6.5" long x 4.5" wide x 5" high. In excellent condition. No flaws. Box shows light wear, but is in good condition.
