Vintage Sterling Silver and Amethyst Cuff, Ornate Bracelet, February Birthstone

Vintage estate jewelry sterling silver cuff with ornate scroll work and an oval, faceted amethyst stone set in silver. Very beautiful and elegant piece. The amethyst has a very even medium purple tone with translucent quality. It is cut well to catch the light at every angle. It throws orange, silver, purple and blue sparkles when tilted (see video for light-play). The silver stone setting is further encircled by a twisted rope design. The repousse and chase works on cuff have opening within the swirls for skin to show through, furthering its dimensional quality. I purposefully left the silver unshined because the repousse stands out more with the grey-scale patina. But it will be up to the new owner to decide whether to polish the silver. Quality piece would make for a nice gift. Marked “925” on back. February birthstone. Size: Almost 1” at widest point. Would fit XSmall to small to medium ladies wrist. 6” (15.24cm) around. Cuff has slight give and can be stretched a little but I would caution manipulating it very conservatively as it is joined right below the stone and may loosen stone if cuff is pried open too aggressively. Amethyst is almost 1/2” long x over 1/4” wide oval. Condition: Light patina (left unpolished). Very good vintage condition. Amethyst is clear and cut well to maximize light-play.
