Great condition. Would have been sold by Sano, Downs in Denver, CO.
Appears to be a felt material. No major damage. Size 7 1/8
Take note: the inside circumference from the ‘center’ of the sweatband is ‘approximately’ 21 1/2” (21.5inches).
Still has original price tag and factory label.
The brim is a uniform 2 inches, all the way around. I do not see any moth bites. The leather sweatband appears to be very much intact and in good condition. There is one area of the sweatband that has minor surface discoloration near the stitch seam, along with a very small bubble at the seem as well. At the back of the hat, near the size tag, the sweatband meet stitch does have a gap. There are some stitches that are frayed and very light scuffing, that can likely be taken out.
Please refer to photos and zoom in to see condition.
Thanks for looking!

Hello
I read your description and it mentions it has the OPS tag but I’m not seeing it in the pictures?
Also how wide is just the brim?
Are there any moth bites and is the leather sweatband completely secured to the hat and still in great condition?
Many thanks
Scott

@sawinokur56 thank you for your inquiry. I’ve added some additional photos to the listing, along with some extra details on the hats condition.
The summarize here, my online research indicated the OPS tag is existing on the inside of the sweatband as shown in the original $13.50 paper price tag photo. The brim is an even 2 inches all the way around. I do not see any moth bites. The leather sweatband is very much intact.

The price tag with the size on the backside of the sweatband on an O. P. S. era hat looks similar, but there was always “O. P. S.” Printed on the top of this tag. Your hat and label are not from the O. P. S. era. The proportions, build, price, etc., all points to a much later date of manufacture…I’d say well into the 1960s or even the 1970s.

Would you be able to tell me the inside circumference in inches?

@jabba42642 thank you for your inquiry. Take note, the measurement taken is approximate. It was taken from the center of the inside sweat band. The measurement was 21 1/2” (21.5 inches). There is online content/research that provides a variety of estimations of US hat sizes (this hat being 7 1/8”) to head circumference. Again, also approximate unless one is able to try the hat on in person. Every head is so different!
Cheers!
