upnupboutique@sf_ishome They are not as secure because screw backs screw on but butterfly backs fit tightly over the post so they are really snug. But you can always put a rubber stopper over a butterfly back just to make sure it is 100% secure. Although I have never lost an earring that

upnupboutique@sf_ishome had butterfly backs because they are pretty secure because of how snug they fit over the post. I hope that helps, but nothing is as secure as a screw back to be honest with you but again butterfly or friction backs as they call them are pretty secure as I have had diamond earrings that just had butterfly or friction backs & not screw backs because most earrings come with butterfly or friction backs not screw backs.
