Abortion rights are women’s rights, it’s healthcare and should be protected.

In light of the tragic news regarding the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe vs Wade, and as someone who lives in a conservative state, I stand with a woman’s right to choose. No man or woman should be making a choice regarding what I alone, do with my body. It is my right as a woman to seek medical care in the case of a miscarriage that needs to be medically terminated. It is my right to have a termination if I am raped and become pregnant with their baby. It is my right to have an abortion should my birth control methods fail and I become pregnant. It is my right, it is your right, it is our right as women to take control of our bodies and our health. We do not need to explain our reasoning for doing so, and we can be as up front or as private about it as we want to be. 1 in 4 women has had an abortion. It is someone you know and love, maybe it’s someone related to you. Maybe you know the reasons why, and maybe you don’t. What you do need to know is that no woman makes this decision easily or looks on it lightly. I encourage all of you to vote not just in the presidential elections, but in your state and local elections and the mid-term as well. We need to be angry about this, and we as women need to let our voices be heard, as right now weapons have more rights as an inanimate object, than we do as living, breathing human beings.
