This wool blazer is hand embroidered, made in Mexico in the 40s/50s. Brilliant red, unblemished wool with hand sewn applique patches depicting traditional Mexican crafts (blankets, hats, bags, and pots), and embroidered flowers on front panels, back, sleeves and collar. The back features a patch and embroidery portrait of a man and woman dancing wearing traditional Mexican outfits. The woman's dress features an embroidered emblem from the Mexican flag. The hem throughout is done with baby blue and cream embroidery thread. The right sleeve has two small holes on its back side (see photos). Shoulder to shoulder is 16"; length is 27.5" Sleeve is 23".
