darohaw @pepepizzazz I dye the LV tags with pro dye. It’s messy but it will never peel. It’s a little harder to do but it will last forever.

darohaw @pepepizzazz I usually get my pro dye on Amazon. It is an oil based dye. U can get a regular leather dye but those r usually alcohol based and u have to make sure u finish it with something and oil it well. The pro dye is oil based so it gets very messy. It doesn’t come out of anything so u have to be careful. I have ruined a lot of leather learning these lessons. 🤣ugh!

darohaw and before u dye, u usually have to deglaze the leather, if it’s already colored, and that can dry out leather too. LV leather is the hardest to deal with because it’s a special kind called vachetta and it is soooo fragile.

darohaw Leather paint works for better for touch ups. It can peel if it’s not done right and even if u take all the precautions, it can still peel.

darohaw @pepepizzazz u can dye anything a darker color. Like if u have a brown and want to dye it black or if u have a light pink and want to dye it brown. U just have to pick a darker color. U can also search “oil based leather dye”. Pro dye is the angelus brand dye. There r other kinds. If u use the regular alcohol based dye, make sure u seal it and put lots of oil on it later. U can also use it on suede. I’m here for any questions 😊
