Carlos Falchi Crocodile Fatto a Mano Gold Clutch

HP🥂Carlos Falchi was one of my favorite designers. He had a supersized personality matched only by his incomparable creativity. This is the man who created the patchwork leather trend of the 70s! I purchased this rare gold croc at his Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour, Miami trunk show. That is when we met. As a journalist I sweated this purchase, but I wanted something of his. I had this crazy idea to have him sign it. Of course other customers then requested the same, and, of course he did so. The Fatto a Mano collection features the printed fabric lining shown here. After Falchi’s death, his family created a line for discount stores including Target. Those are not made from quality exotic leathers.
