Charming mid-century, one-of-a-kind, hand painted ceramic 4-piece set consisting of a corn-themed covered butter dish with matching salt and pepper shakers. Salt and Pepper Shakers: • approximately 4” tall x 2” wide • each shaker has 3 holes on top • missing the original stoppers • will ship with new clear silicon stoppers • signed on bottom “Sizemore 1968” • great vintage condition - no chips or cracks Covered Butter Dish: • base measures 9”x 5.25” • cover measures 7” x 3.5” x 3.25” • signed on interior of lid “Sizemore 1966” • inscribed on base “To my family Avis 1966” • great vintage condition - no chips or cracks This set was an estate sale find. Research shows that the bisqueware pieces were likely painted by Avis Sizemore (1937-2023). In her obituary, it was noted that she was well known for her arts and crafts and especially enjoyed painting on canvas and ceramics. A great piece of Americana reminiscent of Shawnee Pottery Corn King pieces! Bundle with the corn-themed butter warmer and skewer set in my closet! From a smoke-free home.
