theluxuryloopco @handmedownhaven actually, because I restore and modify vintage and pre loved leather goods so that they can be kept in rotation it helps reduce the demand for new leather goods. I’m sure it’s a drop in the ocean but 🤷🏼‍♀️.

The high cost of designer bags is not an excuse.. sometimes cost reflects quality, some of the bags I work on are 30-40 years old and still in good condition, in 40 years a purse bought at Walmart will be junk in a landfill. Circular fashion=sustainability

I understand the quality... i just personally don't understand why a 2000 bag is better than a 200 bag. I think there's hype over name brands, wanting to have a name rather than a bag they like. That creates the crazy demand for countries like china to take advantage of. And unlike you people aren't restoring.

handmedownhaven i apologize i popped off. wasn't my place. i'm not a vegan and didn't claim to be. i dont have a job (single mom michigan lockdowns) and my grandma died so i started consignment. not a vegan nor could i afford leather 🤷‍♀️ F china all together. in general anything made in China could be made by children or forced labor of adults. I’m a mom of 2 boys too and I lost my business to the pandemic and almost lost everything before I started PM. I try to operate and sell with good intentions and conscious and I’m very passionate about certain social injustice issues.

theluxuryloopco @handmedownhaven I understand what you mean about hype and agree that there are indeed a lot of brands out there that produce in the same factories as generic brands and the price makes no sense. LV Chanel and YSL don’t, they employ craftsmen/women in Italy France and Spain and have pretty solid ethics thankfully. I wish you all the best and lots of sales, I will share your closet 😊
