This is a rare antique rectangular step cut genuine smoky quartz pendant and gold tone base metal chain. The dimensions of the stone are 36.11 x 20.68 x 10.23 mm. It is about 52 Carats in weight and is free of any scratch or damage. The frame of the pendant is gold tone (looks like gold filled silver and does not attract the magnet). I haven’t done acid gold test on it yet. Will update the description when I do it. In excellent vintage condition.

msa5123@moonsunshine Hi there! smoky quartz is the brown variety of quartz. I have a polariscope and refractometer at home. Under the polariscope, this stone is DR (doubly refraction). Glass is ADR. So this can’t be glass. It also has a refractive index of 1.54 on the refractometer, which is true of quartz. Most quartz are heat treated for richer color and getting rid of color zoning. I am not sure if this one is or isn’t heat treated. I hope this helps. 🤗
