This piece is vintage & oh-so special! This Hong Horizons Maruyoshi Originals was handmade in 1967 & is a one of a kind.
Each animal in this series of art was only made once. The bird is paper mâché and beautifully painted to highlight the detail. It is rather light in weight.
This owl was originally made to be a "piggy bank," though I have only used it as decor. I purchased this from a wealthy estate in 2010. The plug on the bottom is aged, but intact.
